This section answers frequently asked questions on navigation of the timeline.
How do I navigate a timeline?
There are three ways in which you can move around a timeline:
  • Zoom to control the granularity at which the information is shown. You can go from a time period of 100 years at one extreme to a time period of 24 hours at the other.
  • Scroll to view a particular time period into view.
  • Click on a participant, tag or place to jump to a different timeline.
How do I zoom in/out on a timeline?
We provide multiple ways to zoom on the timeline. With your mouse, you can:
  • Click the zoom-in / zoom-out icons on the navigation panel at the top of the timeline.
  • Double click anywhere on the timeline to zoom in.
  • Right click anywhere on the timeline to zoom out.

If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can also:
  • Roll your mouse wheel forward to zoom in.
  • Roll your mouse wheel backward to zoom out.
How do I scroll on a timeline?
Scrolling is really easy - simply press your left mouse button and drag the timeline left or right.

If your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can also:
  • Hold down the "Alt" key and roll your mouse wheel forward to move forward in time.
  • Hold down the "Alt" key and roll your mouse wheel backward to move back in time.
How do I got back to my timeline?
You can go back to your timeline by:
  • Clicking on the "Timeline" tab in the top navigation bar.
  • Selecting "My Timeline" from the dropdown in the navigation panel on the timeline.

We track the last 5 timelines you visited since you logged in and show it to you in the navigation panel. You can use it to not only go back to your timeline but also to any of the last 5 timelines you viewed.
How do I view hidden posts?
Small triangles hover on top of the date bar indicate where additional posts exist, but cannot be shown on the timeline at the current zoom level. To view hidden posts, keep zooming in, until you reach an appropriate zoom level where the post will pop up on the timeline automatically.
